This is a picture of me and my 2-year-old daughter (who is now 15). Every day she would come up to my work chair and jump up on my back and watch sesame street on my computer. She would sit like this for about an hour or two daily as I sat there and worked. I made calls, prospected, emailed clients back, worked on projects, or anything else that required my attention.
This is the way "balance" works. In fact, I love calling It Harmony Instead. The word balance gives you a false belief that everything In your life should have an equal portion of your attention daily and because of that we sometimes become miserable attempting to fit balance into our lives.
Life is closer to harmony. Harmony is "an interweaving of different accounts into a single narrative". These happenings will at different times require more attention from you and some days they will get little attention from you.
The more you identify with taking care of yourself first (Mental, Emotional, Physical, Spiritual), the more you can take care of your family (Spouse, Children, Siblings, Friends, Pets) and the better you'll be at the 3rd priority with is your business (Job, Side Hustle, etc...).
Harmony Is knowing that all of these things will require different amounts of time on different days. It will depend on where you are in your life, your maturity (Or lack thereof), your environment, and the importance you place on each of the priorities.
So go out and achieve Harmony today, don’t look for balance
